Jújú... Skálpanes, fyrirgefðu ég gleymði á skrifa á maundaginn.. Doh! Ok (á Ensku nuna, af því að ég ar latur) The trip was good, although there was very little wind at the bottom of the glacier, and I had the wrong skis (took telemarks as I though I was going to walk up the slope). 5-6m/s in the shelf, so I used the 5m Offroad, as the snow was hard/icy in places. I had the 10m with me but never used it.. Good points: Big flat shelf above first shelf to ski on, closer to the interesting bits of glacier, hut nearby with coffee etc, Lots of tourists to impress. Bad points: Difficult road access when snow is soft, steep slopes up to top of glacier, crevassed 2nd slope, access to glacier is safest via a N facing slope, which is a problem when the wind is from the north, 2km uphill walk back to hut from glacier.. Conclusion: Interesting, but I think Jaki (hut up from Húsafell) is a better location, as the road and ski access is better... Maps and photos on the www Plans for the weekend?: Probably off to Bláfjoll, although Birkir is talking about Skjaldbreiður
